Lying to Save Their Skins

My article from today's FrontPage Magazine:

Lying to Save Their Skins

By Matthew Vadum

Beset by criticism from all sides for its bungled healthcare exchange rollout, the Obama administration expects to weather the growing storm by lying, rationalizing, and running out the clock.

Mendacity, stalling, and stonewalling have worked well as part of a public relations strategy for the Obama administration over its first five years, so there is no point in changing a winning formula now.

Besides, extravagant healthcare subsidies begin to kick in next year, and all that free money floating around is bound to calm irate consumers.

America’s first Marxist president has been able to get away with wrongdoing by lying to an incurious, docile media, which he knows has little interest in conducting good faith investigations of the Benghazi saga, Fast and Furious, multiple IRS abuses, and various other administration-wide scandals that have become too numerous to count. Obamacare, or the Affordable Care Act, is no different.

Even now, in the face of overwhelming evidence that the president has lied to the public with his oft-stated promise that “if you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period … If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan, period,” and slight variations thereof, the media refuses to call Obama’s deliberate misrepresentations lies.

Democrat hack Ezekiel Emanuel, who was part of the team that designed Obamacare, blames insurance companies.

People aren’t being dropped from their health plans because of Obamacare. Instead, he says it’s all the insurers’ fault.

“If an insurance company decides its changing how it’s going to structure its plan, that’s not the law doing it,” Emanuel said. “That’s the insurance company deciding for business reasons.”

Insurance companies hate the individual market so they’re trying to destroy it, he said.

“The insurance companies don’t like — the insurance companies don’t like the individual market as it’s constructed,” said Emanuel, sounding like a paranoid schizophrenic off his meds. “They see the future. That individual market is going away. They don’t want to invest in it.”

Taking his lead from admitted communist Van Jones, Benjamin Bell of ABC News wrote a news story in which he characterized Obama as “reversing course on his now famous promise that those Americans who like their plans could keep them if them if they wished under Obamacare.”

Obama Prepares to Community-Organize America

My article from the Jan. 22, 2013 issue of FrontPage Magazine:

Obama Prepares to Community-Organize America

By Matthew Vadum

In his latest unprecedented move in American history, President Obama announced he is converting his campaign apparatus into a permanent in-your-face campaign aimed at furthering Obama’s divisive, radical politics.

The new tax-exempt advocacy group, Organizing for Action, will “play an active role” in “mobilizing around and speaking out in support of important legislation” during Obama’s second term, the president said last week.

In the same vein, in his second inaugural address yesterday, Obama bullied the opposition. Reinforcing his long-running “spread the wealth” theme, the president hectored successful people, declaring that “our country cannot succeed when a shrinking few do very well and a growing many barely make it.”

Obama also seemed to signal in his mercifully brief oration that he’s going to go all-out to make government bigger.

Americans, he said, “reject the belief that America must choose between caring for the generation that built this country and investing in the generation that will build its future.”

Now, like a Third World caudillo, Obama will be able to pursue his policies from inside government and from outside through his OfA thug army.

OfA is a less violent version of Mussolini’s black shirts and Hitler’s brown shirts, or of the government-supported goon squads that Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez and Cuba’s Castro brothers use to harass and intimidate their domestic opponents. OfA units brought muscle to the recent fight in Wisconsin over that state’s out-of-control government labor unions. OfA has bludgeoned Democrats that Obama deemed insufficiently left-wing, especially red-state congressional Democrats who had been wavering on the issue of Obamacare.

Soros Election-Rigging Scheme Collapses

My Front Page Magazine article from July 31, 2012:

Soros Election-Rigging Scheme Collapses

By Matthew Vadum

A George Soros-backed scheme that paved the way for Al Franken’s 2008 theft of a U.S. Senate seat has collapsed months ahead of the critical November elections.

Rumors of the death of the Secretary of State Project had been circulating for months. Michael Kieschnick, co-founder of the Secretary of State Project, confirmed that his group has shut down in an interview at the recent “Take Back the American Dream” conference in Washington, D.C.

Although the so-called 527 political committee “still exists” on paper, “2010 was terrible so we’ve switched our efforts,” said Michael Kieschnick wearing a tee shirt reading “ORGANIZER” in block capital letters. Section 527 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code allows the group to accept unlimited financial contributions.

The idea behind the Secretary of State Project was that in most states the secretary of state runs elections and that a relative pittance can help swing these little-watched state contests, allowing even small donors to play a big role in installing a powerful state official who can tilt the playing field in favor of Democrats.

The Left’s Spring Offensive

My article in today's Front Page Magazine:

The Left’s Spring Offensive

By Matthew Vadum

Communist Van Jones and MoveOn have begun training up to 100,000 activists across the nation in the fine art of terrorizing corporations and the general public in order to force change that the American people don’t want.

The activists plan to disrupt shareholder meetings of Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, and 30 other large corporations. They also plan to conduct “actions” against education lender Sallie Mae and businesses they accuse of profiting from student indebtedness. Their strategy is remarkably similar to the subversive plan pushed by SEIU’s Stephen Lerner that aims to destroy the nation’s financial system.

Their first multi-day training session in allegedly nonviolent direct action tactics began on April 9 and took place in hundreds of locations across the country. This “Spring Training” is named after the Arab Spring of 2011 in which popular revolts ousted various leaders in the Middle East and cleared the way for Islamofascists to take over.

Although the 100,000 figure provided by organizers from MoveOn and Jones’s Rebuild the Dream organization is no doubt a gross exaggeration, the training already appears to be paying off.

Leftist spring training is ACORN-approved

Admitted communist Van Jones is working with various leftist groups “to train over 100,000 young people to engage in acts of massive civil disobedience throughout the country,” Ron Radosh writes in a great op-ed on PJM called The Organized Left’s Spring Surprise: Revealed on TV and in The Nation magazine.

These radicals swear up and down that their activities will be nonviolent but they’re lying.  With the Left there is no such thing as nonviolent protest.  The goal is chaos.  The Left wants to stir things up so violently that it leads to a radical transformation of America.  God help us if these subversives succeed.

This training is endorsed by three ACORN-related organizations:  the  Working Families Party, Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, and Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment.

As I explain in my book, Subversion Inc: How Obama’s ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers WFP is ACORN’s political party and ACCE and MORE are rebranded ACORN state organizations.

Obama's secret plan to help Democrats by flushing 9/11: You won't believe how president sought to change meaning of catastrophic day

A new report from WND highlights more of the explosive information in my new book Subversion Inc.

Read the article here.

Here is the beginning of the piece:
Believing Sept. 11 to have been "hijacked by Republicans," President Obama had a secret plan to "flush 9/11 down the memory hole" in order to benefit Democrats, the author of a brand-new book is claiming.
According to "Subversion Inc." by investigative journalist Matthew Vadum, Obama sought to make the environment the prime concern on 9/11 instead of the worst terrorist attacks in U.S. history.
The president allegedly used his green jobs czar Van Jones and the leftist group ACORN to help orchestrate the transformation.
"The leftists at ACORN view September 11 as a 'Republican' day because it focuses the public on supposedly 'Republican' issues like patriotism, national security, and terrorism," writes Vadum [...]
"They complain that 9/11 was long ago hijacked by Republicans and their enablers and unfairly used to bludgeon helpless Democrats every election. MSNBC host Keith Olbermann summed up this ugly perspective, calling 9/11 'a brand name. A Republican campaign slogan. Propaganda of the lowest form.'" [...]

Buy the book Subversion Inc.: How Obama's ACORN Red Shirts Are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers, which is now available in fine bookstores near you. If you'd like an autographed copy, order it directly from  the publisher, WND Books, here.

From the twisted mind of Obama green jobs czar Van Jones: America has a culture of death because we use fossil fuels

First, global warming con man Al Gore compared companies' search for energy to "junkies looking for another vein." Now self-described communist, Obama pal, and 9/11 truther Van Jones one-ups the master. Jones advances the original but totally absurd argument that oil is "death" and that because we use oil our society is death-centered. At the recent Commie Con Power Shift conference Jones passionately declared:
We have an energy system, a civilization powered by death. Fueled by death. Why do they call them fossil fuels? We act shocked, having pulled death out of the ground, that we get death out of the skies. Let's stop fueling death.
This is an argument fashioned for ignoramuses and morons, who are, of course, Jones's natural constituency.
Let's think about his argument. Because we put "dead" stuff like petroleum to productive use instead of leaving it in the ground where it remains useless to human beings, we are exhuming death and shouldn't be surprised that we "get death out of the skies."

What does that last part even mean? How are we getting death out of the skies? Don't we have to wait for most of our food, whether vegetables or meat, to be dead in order to eat it? Doesn't virtually every living thing on the planet eat things that are dead? Should we be allowed to consume only living things such as yogurt and inanimate things such as water?

How does Jones come up with this bombastic drivel? And to think, Jones criticized my writing, the wordcraft of a professional who has been writing and getting paid for it for almost a quarter century, calling my work "purple prose." This is what Alinskyites like Jones do: they ridicule because they believe, as Alinsky taught, that ridicule is a powerful tool. Saul Alinsky's fifth rule of "power tactics" from Rules for Radicals is that ridicule "is man’s most potent weapon.” It is a rhetorical weapon of mass destruction. “It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule,” he wrote.

“Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.” It is comparatively easy to get away with threatening the enemy. “You can insult and annoy him, but the one thing that is unforgivable and that is certain to get him to react is to laugh at him. This causes irrational anger.” The problem with this thinking is that once you understand what an Alinskyite like Jones is trying to do, it's fairly easy not to be bothered by such an attempt at ridicule. You can revel in it and throw it right back at him. And you should.

Race-Baiting Van Jones Buddy Blesses Agitprop Studio With Billionaire Backing

(originally posted at NewsReal)

Radical philanthropist George Soros's billionaire socialists club that wants to turn America into Greece has formally entered the propaganda business. Soros, by the way, has openly embraced Chinese Communism and has been lending moral and financial support to glorifying left-wing terrorist attacks against the United States.

A Soros-led group, the secretive Democracy Alliance, which is a donors' collaborative that brokers funds for groups that want to destroy America as we know it, has started up a new project called New Media Ventures. (Democracy Alliance was created to fund a permanent political infrastructure of nonprofit think tanks, media outlets, leadership schools, and activist groups to compete with the conservative movement.)

This is its self-description from the “about” page on the New Media Ventures website:
New Media Ventures is the first national network of early stage investors who are investing their time and money into new, cutting edge, start-ups focused on building progressive change. Members join to learn more about opportunities that they couldn’t find anywhere else. It is a pilot project of the Democracy Alliance, a partnership of changemakers committed to strengthening democracy by investing in and fostering collaboration among progressive leaders and institutions. Launched in 2005, the Democracy Alliance has emerged as one of the largest drivers of progressive activist funding in the country.
New Media Ventures is directed by Christie George. The advisory board consists of:
• John Johnson, Co-Founder, Buzzfeed.com
• Mike Mathieu, Founder, FrontSeat.org
• Rob McKay, Democracy Alliance Board Chair
• James Rucker, Co-Founder, Citizen Engagement Lab
• John Schwartz, Founder, Free Speech TV
• Felicia Wong, Senior Vice President Investment Services, Democracy Alliance
Ultimately, New Media Ventures aims to help investors support projects that increase citizen engagement and participation, creating lasting social change.
Ahem. I think radical agitators changemakers mean socialist change.

James Rucker (pictured above), by the way, co-founded the vicious race-baiting group Color of Change with self-described "communist" and eco-charlatan Van Jones. After more than a year the group has failed, despite vigorous efforts, to get Glenn Beck dumped by Fox News -- but they keep on trying.
But Color of Change did manage to get Andrew Breitbart booted from the coveted front page of the Huffington Post gossip and girls-in-bikinis-photos website in recent days. After Breitbart was invited to blog at the site --which he actually helped to design years ago when Arianna Huffington's brain chemistry was a tad more stable-- Color of Change attacked by urging its supporters to deluge the HuffPo with complaints.
